Coming soon for PC: The Sims Life Stories, The Sims Pet Stories, and The Sims Castaway Stories. These games are standalone – meaning they do not require nor support The Sims 2 in any way, and they are laptop-friendly, meaning you don’t need a super-powerful gaming laptop to be able to play. In fact, you can play in a window, instead of fullscreen, so that you can do other things at the same time.

Each game offers an open-ended Classic Mode and a storyline-directed Story Mode. They’ll launch with their own websites since again, they don’t support The Sims or The Sims 2.

From the FAQ:

“In The Sims Life Stories, play through Riley’s life story as she returns home to start a new life with new friends, new experiences, and unexpected surprises. A second story lets you sort out the love life of Vince, a love-struck high-tech whiz who’s been unlucky in love so far.

Also Coming Soon to The Sims Stories Line: The Sims Pet Stories challenges your Sims to care for and train loveable but unpredictable pets, while The Sims Castaway Stories helps your Sims make a new life in an unexplored island paradise.”

“How is this game different from The Sims or The Sims 2?
The big difference is the addition of the new directed Story mode, laptop friendly system specs, and the ability to play the game in a separate window while using your own IM and email to stay connected with friends.

The Sims Stories games are standalone games and do not support expansion packs or stuff packs from The Sims or The Sims 2 collections.”

I think the Sims franchise should be put to rest. Does it still really make enough $ to justify releasing 3 new titles for it?

  • Christopher

    I think it’s just a lame game…

I mean like everyone like expansion packs to The Sims 2!

Well many people might like it but alot of people don’t!

Maybe they should make a new one but goes to The Sims 2.. and money will be flying in!

Just a suggestion. I aint buying this product if it isn’t an expansion pack to The Sims 2.

I’ve been Sims-free since I went to uni and had to leave the home PC in favour of a laptop. I will buy this, straight away. Lots of people only have laptops and can’t play normal Sims, so this is… you know, really good.

  • Tru

I am excited about any new sims games as I always enjoy the sims games…but I am confused to the exclusive laptop games because I can run the current games on my desktop or laptop just fine…is it that some people don’t have the memory to run the huge programs from the sims 2 games and expansions? Because my pc runs all of them with no problem and even takes the added downloaded characters…
    I don’t know. :-)
    I still think it is kool… :-)
(by the way just so no one thinks I meant that mean I only asked because I honestly don’t know).

Tru – I have a laptop that can run the Sims 1, but not 2 (but my laptop is 4 years old). And a lot of people buy budget laptops that are just for using the net and working. Those kinds of laptops often don’t have the graphics card for games. So yes, some can run high-end games, but a lot don’t.

Does anyone know, are Pet Stories and Castaway Stories going to be expansion packs for Life Stories or are they going to be completely stand-alone games? Thanks!

  • http://www.consolecolors.com Kat

Erin, they’re supposed to be standalone games. :)

  • Amber

I’ve been a sims fan since the begining and i got a new laptop and i could only run the sims2 and uni (which really sucked considering i have them all) because otherwise all my walls would start to flash red and black( because video card wasn’t that big) but anyways i am so excited for the sims life stories because then i won’t have to worry about video cards and other stuff like that. So i am definetly buying it on Feb. 6.
