IGA suffering from crisis of imagination with Wii
Either that, or he’s a horrible tease. Koji Igarashi has gone on record several times saying he can’t imagine making a Castlevania game for Wii, because people would get tired whipping the controller over and over. I take it this means he hasn’t actually looked at a Wii controller, because there are these things on there called buttons that one could perhaps press in order to make your weaponry do its horrible, holy work.
Fortunately for Igarashi-san, I have some suggestions, and I’m sure you do as well.
Take a look at New Super Mario Bros, Sonic Rush, Mega Man Powered Up, and Viewtiful Joe. These are great examples of how we take an old-style sidescroller concept and make it work on a modern system. Castlevania has only had moderate success in full 3D and it might be time to go back to 2D. Give us a side-scrolling Castlevania game with 3D characters, and let us control it like a Virtual Console NES game.

All he has to do is make a Castlevania game in this style and it would sell like crazy. Add motion controls for special attacks. Throw in a remake of the original Castlevania, Powered-Up style, and everyone will applaud.
What do you guys think? How could Iga make a compelling Castlevania title using the Wii controller?
