Games you keep playing, and playing, and playing.

keepplaying_dmc3_001.jpgEveryone’s got them — games you just like to pick up and keep playing again, and again, and again. Like the Energizer Bunny they don’t lose their oomph the fifth, tenth, even twentieth time you play them. They might not hook your friends the way they’ve hooked you, but firing them up and jumping in for just one more play session is relaxing and fun.

The latest game that does this for me is Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition. The new difficulty modes, the survival Bloody Palace mode, and the great punching, kicking, slashing, and devil-powered melee action are all great fun.

What’s your latest game that just keeps you coming back for more?

I’ve been playing Oblivion for the 360 on an almost daily basis since it was released.

I’ve also been playing a lot of God of War and Ninja Gaiden Black recently.

I still dig out Baldur’s Gate II, Planescape: Torrent and the Homeworlds on occation – still love ‘em. And Gran Turismo 3…

I’ve been playing Geometry Wars nearly every day for a year. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it. If I could only pick one game to play for the rest of my life, Geometry Wars would be it.

Burnout 3 for me. Can’t get enough of that Road Rage. I also dig Geometry Wars, but the one that came with PGR2, since I’ve yet to obtain a 360 yet.:(

DMC3 I agree – I played through the original release and also played through SE from start to finish. The original DMC I played through the Japanese version (imported a few months early) and beat it on Hard mode as well.

I also keep finding myself going back to F.E.A.R. for PC (also playing through it on 360) and occassionally Hexic.

Older, Castlevania : SOTN – I’ve played through this 4 or 5 times. Brilliant game.

Well, games that I always go back to:

    Ninja Gaiden (black or otherwise)
    God of War
    Warcraft 2
    Super Metroid
    Zelda: Link to the Past
