Electroplankton gone without a trace.

eplankton.pngI guess I’m not too surprised to see that Electroplankton has slipped off the face of the earth, relegated after not a year on the shelf to people asking hundreds of dollars for a copy on eBay. However, if I’d known Nintendo would stop making the game so soon, I might have picked up a copy when it was showing up used at Gamestop. Both the retailers linked to the official website, Circuit City and Toys ‘R’ Us, play dumb when you click through to them, and Amazon and Target’s websites both simply say it’s out of stock, though you can pay way too much for it in an Amazon auction, if anyone trusts those.

Initially Nintendo was only making this available online via a couple of retailers, I’m guessing it was because they didn’t think it would achieve commercial success. Looks like we’ll never know if it would have if they’d advertised. I was considering picking this up as a gift for someone I though might find it pretty peachy. Did anyone manage to grab this title while it lasted? What did you think?

I snatched it up right away, as I figured something like this would happen. I’ve learned not to take chances with quirky but wonderful games such as this one. It’s one of those games that will always be in my collection, and it’s fun to pick up from time to time. Good luck in your searching. ^_^

I got this along with Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center first when I got my DS. In fact, I ordered my copy of Electroplankton off Nintendo.com when I registered my DS. Perhaps you could still find one there?
