360 BC List Updated – Psychonauts Makes The List!

psychonauts_prelimxboxbox_160w.jpgSince the launch of the 360 some gamers have complained about the 360′s lack of backwards compatibility. Personally I never cared because I usually do not play old gen games once the next gen has arrived, but I understand that some like playing older games so I guess I understand why some would complain. Fortunately Microsoft has been hard at work getting many old Xbox games working on their new hardware, and today they have updated their compatibility list with some news titles. Most importantly Psychonauts has finally made the list. Besides Psychonauts another noteworthy game is Indigo Prophecy, which in my opinion was a really good game and worth at least a rent. In all there are about 30 new games added to the list and Microsoft is still promising to keep adding new titles, but by the time they get the majority of games backwards compatible hopefully there should be enough good next gen games that people won’t care so much about the older Xbox games.

About. FREAKIN. Time. This is one of those bitter sweet moments though. I already played it again thanks to Valve so this is coming a bit too late for me. Nice to see Buffy, Destroy All Humans, and MK though :)

I’m really glad they are still working on it but I’m a bit disappointed in the results. I have several xbox games I picked up cheap and would like to play them on the 360 while in between releases. The 2 on my list right now are Chronicles of Riddick and Dungeons and Dragons Heroes. Likewise, I have a ton of cube games I never got around to playing for one reason or another and I’ve been playing them on the Wii. I’m a person that likes to wait till games drop in price so I play a lot of older games. Generational transitions can be tough without serious backward compatibility. I’m so glad everyone is making an attempt this gen.
