<description>Yup. I found out my Samsung HDTV doesn&#039;t do 720p when I got my HDTV cable box a couple of months ago. I looked into it, and most Samsung HDTVs don&#039;t do 720p. When I looked, they only had two models that did. Go figure.

<description>You know, I&#039;ll bet a lot of people who bought PS3&#039;s are just realizing that their TV doesn&#039;t even support 720p. It wasn&#039;t something that we talked about when HDTV&#039;s were first becoming popular.

<description>I don&#039;t hate on the PS3 but this news is certainly a bummer. While I&#039;m not the typical early adopter, I do consider myself fairly tech savvy when it comes to my purchases.

I bought my HDTV about a year ago and I made sure it supported HDMI and had plenty of inputs to make itself useful. However, I just recently bought an upscaling DVD player with HDMI hoping to get the most out of my TV. The player lets you choose if you want 480P, 720P or 1080i. When I hit the 720P my TV went wonky. I looked at the manual and realize that it ONLY supports 1080i. I only bought this TV a YEAR AGO. I was under the impression that this PS3 problem only effected 3+ year old TVs. I was wrong. After more research, I have found that not only do older TVs have issues with 720P but many newer entry level ($500-$750) HDTVs do as well.

Anyway, if you are interested in the PS3, learn from my mistake and do some research and make sure any TV you buy supports 720P.
