Portable Ops on PS2?
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is scheduled for release on December 5th. The game is set to have everything a Metal Gear Solid fan can want: Time-tested single player campaign, a deep and immersive online multiplayer component and a collection of unique gameplay elements that will take great advantage of the PSP. Konami’s Ryan Payton, Associate Producer at Kojima Productions, answered some questions from the IGN forums.
“IGN: Are there plans to port Portable Ops to the PS2, in the event that the game receives poor sales on the PSP?
Ryan: Absolutely not.”
Even more encouraging for PSP fans, when Ryan Payton was asked whether a sequel would be considered for the PSP he responded,
“Absolutely. If the response to MPO is as good as we’re expecting, you can look forward to new chapters in the Big Boss legacy on PSP. We still have many stories to tell about the early years of Metal Gear Solid — I hope we can continue to do that on PSP.”
