My Gaming Dilemma !

I have to make a tough decision today and I was wanting all of our readers input. My sister is going in for minor surgery tomorrow and she was supposed to take her 2 year old daughter to a Wiggles concert. Her husband is now taking her but she wants me to go along so I can take pictures. Before saying yes I realized that I get my copy of Gears of War tomorrow and I was planning an all day chainsaw session. I would feel guilty if I said no but at the same time I have been waiting for this game for a long time, not to mention that I would have to sit through a Wiggles concert.

What should I do? Be loyal to the family or spend the day playing Gears of War?

Oh come on, there’s no contest! You have to go to the concert. You can always play a game later, but you can’t always sing Do The Monkey and dance with Captain Feathersword, now can you?

Disclaimer: Captain Feathersword reference not intended to attract sneering double-meaning entendres about adult behavior. Participating franchise locations only. Void where prohibited. Tax, title and license fees apply.

Skip the Wiggles show. It will be hours of pain and suffering. If you were bringing your own child it would be different.

(I admit, if it was MY nephew that was going, I would go. But I’m sure yours sucks. )

Have fun at the Wiggles concert

  • James

Skip the concert and teach the 2 year old how to curb stomp.

Do you really need pics of what the Wiggles are doing on stage? Let your brother-in-law take one or two pics of the kid himself. I have lots of old concert pics of the stage, and they’re worthless. Too far away and don’t measure up to the memories.

GOW will be around forever, your niece will only be young once. Draw your own conclusion. And the show will only delay the game, but not the other way around.

  • Richard

Come on I need more people on my side here. DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

  • Bill

Play Gears. Let hubby take his own Wiggles snapshots. That’s a lousy pretext. He had the kids so he’s got to deal with him. My girlfriend is having to come to terms with the fact that I’ll be playing it all weekend. She wants every game to be like a 5 minute game of Meteos on the DS. Sorry honey. This one lasts longer than 5 minutes.

FFS MAN! Don’t make a fool of yourself on teh intertubes. Get your ass to that concert, no justification for missing it. Play GoW a few hours later.

Here’s the deal. Think of Real Life(tm) like The Sims(tm). You need to make sure you maintain the little heart meter above your sister and your niece. Otherwise they won’t be friends with you later, when you need them for something.
Going to the concert increases the meter. You can always play Gears tomorrow night.

OK OK I am going! I doubt I had a choice in all reality

On November 8th 2004, my girlfriend was so sick she had to go to the hospital. It was getting late, so instead of taking her to the hospital as she wanted, my buddy and I went to the Gamestop midnight opening so I could get my pre-ordered copy of Halo 2 at midnight on the 9th. I ditched a loved one for a videogame.

Was it worth it? Absolutely. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

    She was a whore anyway.

Richard bro, family and friends first. Always. The people that we love and that love us are the most important things of this world that we have in this world.

    GOW FTW!

    wiggles ftw! :D

    I’m biased though, I’m in Australia :P

How long could the concert be since it is aimed at wee little ones? The concert will probably be 1 hour TOPS, and including driving and sittings around waiting you’ll probably only lose a maximum of 3 hours of your day.

  • pooka

Richard who are you kidding? You know you are a huge wiggles fan. I am willing to bet you have at least one of their songs on your Ipod.

  • nacho

Dude. You are being lame. Family First.
