Resident Lost Planet fanboy here again with the newly released Lost Planet trailers in YouTube format. These are both available for viewing off of the Lost Planet website in what Capcom is calling, “webisodes”.

Watching through them a few times, I noticed some not-so hidden messages in the videos. One of the videos directs me to a web page and the other has the numbers, “111″ flash on the screen. They’re very quick, but you shouldn’t have any trouble seeing them. Screenshots of the images as well as the full videos when you click through.

The first video, Awakening, at about 55 seconds in flashes the numbers, “111″ briefly on the screen as shown below. Not sure what this might mean by itself but the second video holds more little tricks.

The second video points us towards neovenusconstruction.com, which is a website for Neo Venus Construction, the fictional corporation behind the storyline of Lost Planet. The page features a login and password option, which I’m confident we’ll have access to eventually.

While this kind of stuff is interesting, I’m getting a little tired of this viral marketing. It’s become so commonplace that it’s quickly losing it’s luster, especially when they resort to editing in text on the screen instead of actually making us work for the info. I’d much rather be examining the backgrounds or HUD text to find nifly little messages like these.
