Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Killzone PS3 “Exceeds” E3 Trailer

Submitted by on November 13, 2006 – 2:23 pm3 Comments

KillzonePS3.jpgSony has sure stepped in it this time, either that, or they’re basically going to blow all of our socks clear off. Phil Harrison has finally commented on Killzone for the PS3, citing that parts of it currently, “exceed” the pre-rendered E3 trailer. He never mentions whether the actual gameplay exceeds the trailer, He just says, “parts of it.” exceed the trailer. He went on to say that we’ll see more of Killzone no earlier than 2007.

Why do the big three set themselves up for this kind of heartache? Just let the screenshots, gameplay footage and hands-on impressions speak for themselves. Killzone was a great game but it was hampered by the platform, never truly seeing it’s full potential. I’m pretty confident Killzone 2 (or whatever it’s going to be called) will be hot with this awesome hardware, but pumping it up ahead of time is a bad decision. Microsoft flipped the hype machine on high for Gears of War and left some disheartened because of it.

Then again, anybody who buys into this hype from any of the big three really deserves to be disappointed.

Wow, just add this onto the big pile of lies told by Sony’s PR people!

Sure, they are probably full of shit, as usual, but that being said, I am really pumped for this game.

I really enjoyed the first killzone and I can’t wait for the second. I’m glad its not coming out till later because I would hate to sacrifice killzone to the shitty-launch-rushjob gods. Imagine what might have gone wrong if they tried to force GoW for a launch title. Let is stew for a bit, make it super sweet.

I hope that Killzone Two is good, but I have a feeling its just all talk. There is no way you can get pre-rendered stuff like that into gameplay. I remember Killzone 1, I was one of the first people to get it. However, it didn’t exactly get up to the hype I hoped it would. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, just not amazing. More like an 8.1 out of 10.
But seriously James, you can keep trying to say the Gears wasn’t amazing, but I don’t care. You’re one of 5 people on the earth that think so.
