You only need to buy the collector’s edition upgrade (800 points). All the rest is stuff you can unlock by playing the game.

This makes me angry. EA makes me angry. Good thing I’m practicing EA abstinence. I pray that EA has an employee like Milton Waddams working at their headquarter office. Please people, don’t support these greedy bastards.

People blame crap like this on Microsoft, when its clearly EA.

    Kyle,

Microsoft designed LIVE to do stuff just like this because they knew the publishers would eat it up.
This isn’t EA abusing Microsofts system. This is EA using Microsofts system the way it was INTENDED.

They are both to blame for this type of crap. I know EA is the whipping boy of the gaming world lately. I don’t usually subscribe to the “EA is the devil” line, but in this case, I think its within reason to choose not to purchase this title.

You’d really think they’d give up on calling them “micro”transactions at this point.

I don’t know. Microsoft and most other companies use the martketplace to offer optional add-ons to games. EA uses it to offer things like that (such as the collector’s edition upgrade), but also cheat codes that are free on other systems. To my knowledge, EA is the only company that is doing that.
