Reuters.com recently conducted a new study trying to prove that violent games are bad for kids. I for one must admit that I think violent games might have an effect on children, but not a long-term one like they are trying to prove. Think about it, when you were a kid and you saw a scary movie, you had demented thoughts or nightmares caused by that movie and if we, the gamers, want our most treasured form of art to attain mainstream status we have to accept this.

Don’t get me wrong, though, I love games and I don’t think jack-holes like Jack Thompson are correct in what they faultily try to prove. And I don’t think that reuters long-term study is going to prove successful. “What we showed is there is an increase in emotional arousal. The fight or flight response is activated after playing a violent videogame,” Dr. Vincent Matthews stated. Keep in mind this is only while playing or shortly after playing a violent game. But regardless the Doctor and his team are still trying to prove the fact that video games imply long-term damage. Good luck with that. Not.
