Amazon goes down just before $100 360 deal

Maybe Amazon was overcome by the amount of people going for the $100 Xbox 360 sale… or maybe it was just some other kind of error. Vince at CrunchGear was there at 1:56pm EST and the site went down. Around 2:06pm he got word from a friend that had loaded the page and said the deal was sold out. If the site was down for a lot of people, I hope Amazon will make a public statement to address the issue, and perhaps beef up their servers before offering any more deals. There’s already a Customers Vote scheduled for next week (voting has already begun), so it looks like this feature will be around for a bit.
