Wii Pre-Orders On Ebay = $600+

Wii pre-orders are already all over Ebay. $50 pre-orders have starting prices around $500 with close to $600 Buy-It Now prices. This is why you take the pre-order sell out with a grain of salt. The vultures pick these things up at pre-order more than anyone else.

I pre-ordered my PS2 with $5 the August before the system launched. Gamestop called me a week before launch, asking me when I was going to pick it up and by that point, I had forgotten that I had even put a deposit on it. I did end up picking it up on launch day, which was a fun experience, but launch lineups rarely justify a pre-order. PS3 and Wii are no different.

**Update** As you might have noticed, just after I posted this, the pre-orders were snuffed out. Ebay is on the ball today.

This is ridiculous, there will be twice as many Wii systems as the PS3. I’m comparing apples and oranges (I <3 sony and I <3 Nintendo). But I think that everyone in America will get a Wii that wants one by the end of the year.

One auction is going for $350 right now with 18 bids and the other is at around $260. Wow. How stupid are these bidders? 2million units. That means every walmart will have 70 systems. People are so stupid. I can’t wait to see people pay $2000 for a PS3.
