Wednesday and The Wii Box Mystery

the wii box scandel.jpgFolks at Wiixors took some pictures of the Wii box and found something on the box that raises a question. The “Wii Startup Disc.” What exactly is the Wii Startup Disc? Could it be the Opera browser, a firmware upgrade, or simply Wii Sports? If it is Wii Sports then why call it the Wii Startup Disc? Is there something Nintendo has been hiding from us…something dark and deceitful? Is this last minute trickery? Is Nintendo pulling a shenanigan on us all? Whatever it is we will surely know by the 19th of next month. What do you guys think?

    I’d say it’s a startup disc like any other. It’ll walk the user through how to use the system, setup the internet connection and such.

    Helpful information on how to instruct your kids NOT to choke each other with the nunchuck wire.

    why is evryone making such a big deal abuot this?
    It says it’s a start up disc, and I’m guessing thats what it is. Or maybe a recovery type disc?

    Maybe you have to install the main Wii menu. Or maybe it’s a tutorial to show confused people how to use and setup the Wiimobile.

    No doubt it’s a tutorial. They need to introduce people to using the system. Either it’s a Wii disc or a DVD. Most likely a game disc that runs you through everything to learn how to use the Wiimote and the menu interface. After all, they want this widely marketed and normal people as well as gamers need to be introduced to the new standard of gaming the Wii is creating. We’re all starting at the same level.

    It would have to be a Wii dics cuase Wii doesnt support DVD’s. Could be a GC dics, but i doubt it.
