Kaz Hirai (President, Sony Computer Entertainment America):

“And if we have to come up with technology – which you can technically do – to isolate the vibration from the sensing, if that means that the controllers are going to be so expensive, then we’re doing the consumer a huge disservice by coming up with a controller that is not very affordable.”

Um… he knows the price of the Playstation 3 right? Since when is afforability Sony’s top concern?! LOL!

From an interview on Kikizo via Next Generation.

Well, to be fair, you buy a system once (in theory) and multiple accessories, so having $70 controllers wouldn’t be very good for the consumer. His reason is still bull though, everyone knows the real reason why rumble isn’t there.

This is clearly an attempt to fan the flames of people complaing about a $60 Wii-mote + Nunchuck (which IS a little pricy IMO).
Yep, thats right folks, Kaz has let you in on a little secret. Sony is out to save the consumer money. Nintendo is forcing new and expensive proprietary controller technology on us. Thats just not fair to the consumer. Ummm. Yeah.

You have to give them some credit. Magical Sonyland does sound better than reality most of the time.

FUCK SONY, They lost my business a few months ago!

  • Jeez!

Can’t they at least offer it as an OPTION?!?!?! Man, I say do out with the BlueRay and make the SIAXIS RUMBLE!!! I can make that tradeoff! I’d rather have rumble than bluray.
