Phantasy Star Universe Beta videos

Submitted by James Munn on October 13, 2006 – 8:02 pmComments

Above is the first of a collection of videos I’ll post of Phantasy Star Universe in action on the Xbox 360. I don’t believe in the mindless action clips you see everywhere else. You’ll see everything, uncut without the fluff, including the horrific loading times. The first video above, is character creation.

Quick impressions so far? As I said, the loading times in the beta are absolutely unacceptable. I can only hope the full version is more refined than this beta, otherwise they’re in for a bumpy ride. Don’t believe me? See for yourself in the video. Click through for more videos throughout the night.

I’m in the process of uploading the second video: Room Tutorial. Gives you an idea of how PSU handles player rooms. Interesting that you can let visitors into your room when you’re not online, they can even drop “decorations” into the house when you aren’t there.

Final video is some 6 player online combat.

I would not say the loading times are too bad normally, you have to remember that since it is a very popular demo, many of the servers are constantly maxed out. Otherwise, its a pretty solid MMORPG.

Yeah the load times are a bit ludacris but I guess dealing with an older game that might end up being the norm. Send me a friend request and maybe we can hit up a quest or two over the weekend. Gamertag: The Wideguy
