On October 4, IGN posted an interview with Ben Board of Codemasters, which goes on to reveal a new game called Heatseaker that will debut on PSP, PS2, and Wii. The game will feature of 30 flyable jets, each with 35 different control paramaters. The interview also discusses graphics, story, and multiplayer modes for all of the mentioned platfroms, so check it out.

heatseaker.jpgBen also states that the game takes strong inspiration from a previously released dog-fighter, Heroes of the Pacific, and even uses the same game engine. Heatseeker is co-developed by IR Gurus and isn’t slated for release until March of 2007, so you’ve got a bit of a wait on your hands, but not to worry, all of the other upcoming Wii games should help to hold you over until the ’07 releasecomments/laughing.gif!

I read this interview last night, and I recall that the guy rather conspicuously avoided the topic of multiplayer on Wii, even when he was specifically asked. I’ll take that to mean there will be none. :(

Other than that, I’m excited for this game. I enjoy flight games, particularly those that lean towards the arcade style. I look forward to this type of game on the Wii. There weren’t a lot of flying games on the cube so this is good news.

I will say though, this guy in the interview was WAY too excited about his product to the point of sounding like a tool. Marketing……hrmph!

Sweet! I can NOT wait for it! It’s too bad that it’s not at launch, but it’s definetly worth the wait.

Heck, it might even give Star Fox a run for it’s money! …. mmm… Nah.

Yet another good article, Xaq. Keep up the good work!
