IGN Screenshot Switcheroo!

IGN.gifI was flipping through some screenshots of the upcoming PS3 and 360 versions of COD3 and noticed that the graphical quality of the images were strikingly similar. Now, I know it’s going to be tough to see a huge difference in graphical quality between titles released simultaneously for the PS3 and 360, but this was different.

As a matter of fact, one of the images was absolutely identical. IGN posted a collection of images for both versions, but one of the images was the same across both platforms. I could be crazy, but you guys can judge for yourselves.

Here are the direct links to the image. I recommend right-clicking and opening each image in a new window (or new Tab, if you’re sportin’ Da Fox) and flipping back between both the 360 and PS3 versions. Please tell me there’s a difference.

While this is only one incident of a single screenshot, I felt that it still deserved some attention. It’s always tough using screenshots alone to judge the visual quality of a game, especially if the screenshots you’re comparing between the different versions are the same.

I’m pretty sure these two images for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are actually just from one or the other (most likely the Xbox 360). I opened the images by itself into separate tabs and switching between the two, there are no differences at all and I highly doubt they are able to capture a replica of an image especially with the same location, time, etc.

Meh… Silly me, I didn’t read it correctly. Didn’t notice you pointed that out. Sorry.
