Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

Generic Video Game Blog Post!

For those of you who have become increasingly disillusioned with online video game journalism and opinion blogs, I’ve managed to condense the jist of most of them into this one post. I figure that I’ve just saved you a few hours of mindless web-browsing. Use this time to play some games! I’ll be playing Another Code: Two Memories. It’s great!

I love writing about how much I love playing games, but I don’t actually play them much anymore because I’m jaded (I spend more time reading about games instead). This just in! Rumour: One of our readers informs us that their cousin works at Nintendo and he’s confirmed that the Wii is just a Gamecube (OMG! For serious!). Check out this hilarious YouTube video of some high-school band doing some sort of tribute to Nintendo. Crazy stuff! And now the Top 10 Reasons to Leave Your Wife for A Playstation 3, followed by the Top 5 Things I Hate About World or Warcraft, followed by a link to IGN’s Top 100 Games of All Time!

This latest casual game deserves your attention (even though it looks like an unlicensed clone of PuzzLoop). Highlighting some obscure game increases my gaming credibility. Check out these photos of something only tangentially related to video gaming (hey, hot “gaming chicks!”). New packaging shots (you need to know what the game box will look like right now!) Some fanboy has redesigned the PSP (now it looks like the DS lite)! Casual vs. Hardcore: Hardcore wins! Stop the press! Sony says something outlandish regarding hardware capabilities of new gaming device. This post is just here to help Major Nelson shill Microsoft products. Um… here’s a rehash of something I read about on the NeoGAF forum. Snap!

OMG! More evidence that Wii graphics are inferior to PS3 and Xbox 360 (because we don’t already know). Look at these numbers indicating that Xbox 360 is doing poorly in Japan (again, no surprises there). DS Lite outsells itself yet again! Retro review time: Man, remember that game… um… from back in the day (I hope this incites nostalgia and makes me seem like a connoiseur). PS3 overheating: LOL! Here are some pictures I ripped from some site that I’m going to neglect to link to. But seriously, Gears of War will be the best. game. EVAR! Nintendo has gone crazy! They want to profit from hardware sales! WTF?!

You know the best thing about Aeropause? Not necessarily avoiding the posts above but it seems to be the only videogame news blog out there that remembers GAMES ARE FUN. And they are. Really good fun.

Thanks and well said! I feel good and bad at the same time now. Glad that you like our efforts here at Aeropause, but a little bad that I was so smarmy and verbose in this post.

I feel like I should have just written “Reminder: Games are fun! Have you taken the time to really enjoy one recently? I’m playing Another Code: Two Memories. It rocks!”

Great post and right on point. What you are saying is totally true. Thanks again for saving us from the gaming blogospheres bullshit. Since I found aeropause, I have literally removed about 3 or 4 gaming site bookmarks. Places I used to check out each day hoping for some good content. I didn’t realize how much these sites were bringing me down until I stopped visiting them. I have also noticed I have been gaming more. Its like, instead of being depressed by bitchy sites full of fanboy flame wars, now I’m pumped up about gaming and just feel good about it again. Joystiq in particular was a big negative influence and I didn’t even realize it. The funny thing is that I found you guys because of joystiq. On another one of their lame ass posts, some commenter got on and made a comment about how joystiq was lame and why couldn’t it be cool like Aeropause. And I was all…..Aeropause WTF is that? I must check this out. And so here I am. Keep up the great site guys! (and gals if there are any)

Exactly the same thing happened with me and I’m glad, I’m now spreading the word.

It’s sad to see so many games blogs awash with cynicism and criticism when there’s really no need. Rather than jumping on the industry’s back whenever it puts a foot wrong, it’s nice to see Aeropause has an enthusiastic approach and really love games, it comes through in your writing and that makes me want to play games. And long may it continue!

I’ve also found this website because of some random post on Joystiq. I was skeptical at first, but now its the first place that I go to whenever I get to a computer. Joystiq/Kotaku coments were getting me way too angry and aggrivated, and its not something that i want from a gaming blog. Thank you Aeropause.

  • Grim says:

Christ, you got that blogosphere down to the smallest detail.

  • America is Better Than You. says:

“Another Code: Two Memories”? Wow, you Europeans got a sucky title. “Trace Memory” is way better.

  • Nick says:

    America is Better Than You:

Hey! At least we got to keep “Jet Set Radio” (“Jet Grind Radio” doesn’t have the same ring to it…)

  • 8bucks says:

“Highlighting some obscure game increases my gaming credibility.” Nicely done.

  • America is Better Than You. says:

    Nick:

    Grind Set
Yeah but America got the two extra maps and added content. Swish!

  • Matthew says:

Ha yeah I hear you. I guess some people are really into the whole politics of games and all, but it’s always refreshing to hear people who just want to play games for fun.
