Deluge of Demos for PSP

There are now 5, count ‘em, FIVE, newish demos for the PSP. I can’t say they’re all brand new, as the Halloween LocoRoco demo was announced several days ago (although not released until now), and Sony has seen fit to release a third, just-plain-old demo for LocoRoco. Besides the LocoRocos, there are demos for Blocks Club, Exit 2, and MotoGP.

The bad news is that they all require firmware 2.80 or higher. Sorry homebrewers!

Blocks Club is a game based on the board game Blokus, where “each player is given a pile of Tetris like blocks. Players must place blocks on the board starting at the corners and then extend it from the corners of the pieces they have placed. The game is over when no one can place any more pieces. The player with the fewest pieces remaining wins.” (Wikipedia)

Kangaeru Exit, or Exit 2, is the sequel to the PSP puzzler Exit, and MotoGP is a motorcycle racer.

Follow the link to PSP Fanboy’s downloadable demo category where they’ve got direct links and instructions on installing the demos. You can also get demos you may have missed in the past: Ridge Racer 2, Bounty Hounds, Ape Escape, and Mercury Meltdown (in Japanese).

Don’t Buy Horse Armor… and don’t upgrade your PSP,

One of these days I’ll get around to recoding a space invaders clone I made in Visual Basic in Lua and distribute it for the PSP for free.

Burton: Oooh, Spaced Invaders….that’s worth it.

Besides, 2.80 and below can run homebrew if you insist on it.
