Battlefield 2142 May Include Spyware

Submitted by on October 17, 2006 – 10:54 am3 Comments

ea_sucks.pngEA has sunk to new lows. Slashdot is reporting that Battlefield 2142 will be including mandatory spyware that will monitor web surfing and other activities to deliver targeted in-game adveritsing.

Wow. Hey, EA? Remember the infamous Sony Rootkit? Guess not, because this is probably the one thing that could lower everyone’s opinion of EA even more. Did EA’s marketing people sit around discussing how they could drag their brand through the gutter even more?

It’s a fact of internet life that we get tracked and monitored and cookied into oblivion as it is, but if there’s one thing that people hate more than being spied on, it’s KNOWING that they’re being spied on. Good job EA, your ability to be complete morons never ceases to amaze us.

As one wise man once said, “EA like sucks my balls” “…so like the E and the A are just sucking both my balls”. I am officially boycotting their games.

Standard EA fud. Software only reports which in-game ads you click on. It doesn’t run outside the game.

I guess you’ll post any lie, as long as it’s anti-ea or anti-sony. And I’m sure there won’t be a retraction or an apology to the developers any time soon. Good job Aeropause, your ability to be complete morons never ceases to amaze me.

    vcoder,
This is why the headline says “MAY CONTAIN” not “DOES CONTAIN”. And this was reported on one of THE most popular internet news sites. So, no, there won’t be any apologies.
Also, there are ways of providing added info to a post that don’t come across like you’re a raving EA fanboy.
So, how is that EA job treating you these days?
