Adhoc Up My Noodles, PS3 Party

    By James Munn | October 24, 2006

Instant_Lunch.jpgI had just set down my Instant Lunch, allowing it to reach the three minute al dente texture, when I realized that my briefcase was devoid of a PSP. What a bummer, I must’ve forgotten to toss it in when I rushed out the door this morning. I was really looking forward to making another run at “Divine Fist” in Tekken DR’s Dojo. Guess that’ll have to wait, I really wanted to hit that pinnacle before Killzone Liberation hits.

I’m the only person in my building that I know of that actually games at their desk during lunch. It would be most excellent to have lunchtime adhoc multiplayer sessions across the office, either with my DS or PSP. I personally prefer my PSP, but I’d be lugging in my Phat DS for any adhoc session I could get. Maybe I should head to a local Starbucks and take my PSP online for my fix? Do any of you get to experience the joy of gaming during lunch at work or school?

On November 2nd, Sony’s hosting a PS3 gamer lounge in NYC and I’ll be attending. I’ll be pretty stunned if Sony can somehow brainwash me into thinking their black beauty is worth the investment at launch. However, with Microsoft screwing the community by being deceptive with their not-so-micropayments, who knows what’ll happen. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to take pictures or video of the party, or even if there’ll be anything worthwhile to take pictures of, but I’ll have something from it. If I get any significant amount of gamer shwag, maybe I’ll toss it into a prize for some kind of contest. Who knows, I’m a giving person.

    • I'm in the same boat that you are. I chow down real fast and then play DQ Rocket slime. Before that it was Megaman and Bass, and before that it was Metal Gear Ac!d 2. I'm the only one that games though.

Ah yes, MGA2. I still have that sucker waiting to be completed. I plan on finishing that up soon as well.

We had a pretty solid MK:DS schedule going for a while at my work. I remember I would be sitting in my cube and I would hear the 3 tones at the start of a race signifying the countdown......beep.....beep....beep.GO!

And I would stand up, hey who has a race going!?!?

It seems like someone was always sneaking in a couple MK races. Not as much any more. It was great fun.

If you think the 360 has lots of microtransactions, just wait for the PS3.

Oh and by the way, if no one told you, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THEM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.

Back during the one holiday season that I worked at Best Buy (gack), I used to take my GBA SP in and play it on my breaks. (This was before the DS ever launched.)
    • I remember those games getting meh reviews (Ac!d 1-2) yet it's the only PSP games I own that I beat. Yet I have played the crap out of all my DS games. Bleach, Mario Kart, and now Rocket Slime being the handheld time leaders of my post teenage life (It was the first Zelda GB game).
