    50 books about games

    By Kat | October 10, 2006

Head on over to Next Gen to read about 50 books everyone in the gaming industry should read. Can we find time in between our video games to read books about video games? The books cover everything from gaming theory to design, the history of games, and even sociology. If you want to know what kind of textbooks are issued with video game classes at colleges, here’s your list. I don’t think I’d read everything on this list since I’m just a gamer and not a designer, but some of them look fun. In fact, a couple of them were already on my wishlist at Amazon before I saw this article. And they’re not all strictly about games – some involve general design concepts, for example. They even recommend reading The Lord of the Rings and watching Star Trek! Out of 50 titles, surely everyone can find something to read in this list.
