The FierceGameBiz Fierce 15 awards celebrate 15 companies we feel are driving the industry forward with good business tactics, inventive products and services, and a fierce dedication to being successful.”

An interesting tidbit is that one of those top-15 companies is Digital Chocolate, which is the company that Trip Hawkins, EA co-founder, started up after 3D0 failed in 2003. With the explosion of mobile and casual games as of late, I’m certainly looking forward to seeing some a steady flow of them upgraded to mainstream, next-gen status be it because of a killer story line, excellent character development or unique gameplay that the current stream of mainstream games lack.
