The Latest neo-Gamer Blog

mommybloggernews-thumb.jpgIf any of you remember the 15 minutes of fame attained by the Old Grandma Hardcore, then you’ll understand my instant disdain for the self-styled “mommyblogger” and latest copycat, Aggroqueen. I have nothing against the Old Grandma Hardcore. In fact, she often reminds me of the many times my own grandmother would watch me play video games.

What annoys me about Aggroqueen… where do I start?

Her website graphics and colorscheme make my eyes bleed.

Conceptually, a blogger whining about how hard it is to be a blogger is moronic enough, but then she decided that wasn’t interesting enough, so hey, why not whine about being a gamer. Because, you know, that one grandma blogger got to be extra famous and EVERYTHING. Yeah, we all want to hear a parent whine about their kids/spouse playing video games all the time. Cripes, reading her blog is like getting a free nag session. For example:

Together, my husband–at least I think it is my husband, the back of his head is familiar– and my oldest son have initiated my youngest son into their cult of War of Worldhell. I have even heard the phrase muttered more than once, “Come on! Everyone is doing it!” (Little game-pushing bullies!)

Oh. Ha ha. I get it. The back of the head is familiar because he’s looking at a monitor all the time playing WoW. And then there’s her description of WoW:

World of Warcraft is an online HELL set in the addictive-winning Warhell universe. Addicts assume the roles or Warhell junkies as they explore, adventure and quest for a bigger and better fix.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

I know the kids need me to do something for them. I have no idea what, but kids always need you to do something for them. And the hubby? Well, he may feel a bit neglected. (How’s if feel to be on the other side and being the gaming widower?)

So, I am going to do what any good mom/wife/writer should do on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

I am going gaming. BRING IT!

We all love a whiny, vengeful, self-absorbed, hypocritical, nagging mother/wife. So adorable.

Oh, how cute. She refers to her posts as “Recent Quests.”

And her site banner says it all: “Can a team of developers and a family of gamers take this Mommyblogger and turn her into a full-fledged Gamer?” For Pete’s sake, I hope not.

Sites like this are the reason I hate the internet. Her website will be a hit.

P.S. Need an extra heavy dose of annoyance, today? Check out her other blog.

Oh, no! She’s going to give over 50 female gamers a bad name!!!!

Dude, you have got issues. Did your mother not give you enough love as a child? How do you figure that she is a grandma? You have something against chicks playing games? Talk about reasons to hate the internet.. it is haters like you.
