TGS: PS3 UI Demonstration, Web Browser

PS3_Browser.bmpSay what you want about PS3, this demonstration is short but sweet. The rendering of photos into 3D paper was pretty creepy, I’ve never seen that done. Free web browser is a nice feature, especially when it has the ability to show multipe open windows on one page.

If Sony’s got one thing right so far, the PSP-themed UI for PS3 is hot. The PSP’s cross media bar is very easy to work with and what I’ve seen so far of the PS3 interface makes Xbox Live look like a jumbled mess.

For hundreds more than the 360 I would hope that at least something would make it better. Although this doesn’t quite make the value equal.

nathan if you compare the premium ps3 to the premium 360 there is a multitude of features that the 360 lacks such as bluray, blutooth ,wifi, full backwards compatibility, motion sensing, hdmi,40 gbs of space, webrowser, linux, extra usb port, memory card reader,mp4 player, and the folding at home application wich gives the ps3 the ability to aid in the fight against cancer.

Honestly, am I the only one that can’t stand that PSP interface? It seems so…clunky to have to cycle through a bunch of options under each category instead of just clicking directly to the one I want.

All worthless to me the general end user. Where’s my gameplay? If i wanted to scatter photos on my floor i’d go into my drawyer here at home and throw them about the room. All this grants me is no clean up time, should I choose to do it on a $600 PS3.

how does motion sensing not efect gameplay? and im sure that bluray wifi 40gbs of space and hdmi can also enhance gameplay.
