    Rent-A-Center is Hiding PS3

    By Shane | September 25, 2006

rac.jpgWhile out running an errand earlier today I saw a sign on the front of a local Rent-A-Center. The sign was simply advertising the fact that you could rent to own your very own Xbox 360. Nothing about that was unusual as it is something that almost every rent to own store does. The hilarity started when I decided to go in and ask about the offer, purely out of curiosity as I already own a 360. What happened next will forever make me aware of how unaware some people can be.

The person who helped me was a very nice middle aged man by the name of Mark. Upon asking Mark about the terms on the 360 he asked me if I had heard of the PS3. I held my sarcastic smile inward and with my fingers crossed behind me I said

I really wanted to stay a longer and call the guy out but I was about to expolde with laughter and the nice guy inside me did not want to horribly embarrass him in front of his friends. I am going to the Nintendo Fusion Tour this week, I hope he isn't there, hahah!

      what a pointless article.
    • hahaha - you should go back and push him further until he admits he was lying, you could have a lot of fun with that
    • Boring
Yeah I went to a UHaul place and the guy said that they had some Wii's in the back that I could have if I rented their truck... I was laughing so hard at them I just walked out so I could write this dumb post. LOL

360s were running for about $1200 after all the payments, I bet. I worked at RAC for four long months a few years ago, the pay was good, but my soul couldn't take the nearly criminal aspect of that place.

Wow. Some guy who works for Rent A Center is a grade-A Toolbox. Who'da thunk?

Still, ignore the critics Richard, this post amused me to no end...wish I'd been there. The guy is probably a crystal meth addict with three retarded kids living out of his Chevette, but its still funny.

The rent-to-own industry should rot in hell. All thye do is prey on the poor and desperate..."here, take this PS2 home today, you can make $11 weekly payments on it for a year and a half...beacuse you're barely surviving paycheck-to-paycheck and you can't save up the $130, we'll gladly sell you a PS2 for the price of a decent HDTV or a driveable used car..."
    • Richard
Oh dont worry Blindelf I never take the comments to serious. I know that the ones who leave negative comments like bobby and boring are just posers with no lives.
    • Wonka
      10 bucks he's into boys...

"Yeah I've got in the back..."

Of course, most young gamers would beg "to see it"

I rented a desk and a computer at rent a center and had to return the computer after 5 months of 200.00 payments alot of money. Yeah it was stupid but I didn't have the money to buy one straight out. I lost my job and had to return the computer then they talked me into keeping the desk because they are assholes and didn't want to come and get it. I owe 178.00 on it but I have already paid for it as a set with the computer its such bullshit but partly my fault. I was trying to make my kids happy with a pc and something new. Anyway- RAC came by my house and knocked on the door and they keep calling me for this stupid desk but how I feel is I already paid for the computer way too much and they aren't goona get this desk cuz now my old pc is fixed thanks to my big brother. What can they do to me? Will it go on my credit and will they finally leave me alone? I haven't called them back and I am not planning on it they can suck my left titty! So what can I do? My credit is messed up so until I do a debt consolidation its whatever please reply back with advice thanks

For eve: If I were you I'd just let the RAC people take the desk back as well. They seem to be real hounds and if you give the desk back you'll be done with them and their illegal tactics. I wonder what their code of ethics says because I've heard of their horror tatics. You could probably just sacrifice and save your money up for a desk from a more reputable store or you could always try the Goodwill. Even though everything's used there, nowadays there are tons of ways to spruce old furniture up. I don't think your credit is messed up but your quality of life is suffering because you have to deal with them bothering you daily.
