PSX Emulator For PSP Released

To me, homebrew on the PSP has never been worth the effort, until now. A homebrew emulator called PSX-P allowing you to play PSOne titles on your PSP has finally been released to the masses. While the initial release is far from perfect, (reported 10fps in Ridge Racer) it’s definitely a start to something great. The software is reported to run on firmwares up to V2.71 so far.

While I doubt this will ever perform as well as the official Sony software, it’s an option for all those tinkerer’s out there. The homebrew scene (which basically profits from banner ads on their homepages) needs to keep churning this stuff out, the homebrew content has gotten really stale lately.

In no way do I endorse the stealing video game software.

If only I cared enough to even buy a PSP.

Who’s stealing? If I own the PS1 game and I own the PSP…

Yeah, if I bought the LP, the cassette, or the CD, I believe I should have a right to the MP3. So, I should have the right to play my PS1 games on the PSP.

(I don’t own a PSP, I own a DS Lite; so I’m speaking in principle.)
