Peter Jackson to make new Interactive Halo project
So one of the things that seems to be glossed over by a number of gaming sites today is the appearance of Peter Jackson at X06. No, he wasn’t just talking about the Halo movie, nor was he referring to the Halo RTS that’s being developed by Bungie and Ensemble Studios.
Peter Jackson annouced the creation of “Wingnut Interactive” and a new Halo series co-developed and co-produced with Bungie Studios. According to Peter Jackson, these aren’t games and they aren’t films. They are supposedly some sort of “interactive entertainment” that isn’t really being built for the hardcore gamers, because material is being worked on by Fran Walsh and Phillipa Boyens (and others), who really aren’t gamers at all.
It sort of reminds me of Chris Roberts and his Wing Commander III “interactive movie” concept. Although, I have a feeling that Peter Jackson and Wingnut Interactive are going to produce something truly new and interesting.
