    MGS4 Gameplay Videos = Meh?

    Here is some brand spanking new videos of actual MGS4 gameplay and to be quite honest it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Some of the animation looks like crap and the gameplay looks a bit drab but I guess its still early in development so I will give them benefit of the doubt for now. MGS4 has been the benchmark for the PS3

      WOw, those don't live up to the hype at all!

      Yeah I think Splinter Cell looks just as good. I know the game is not finished but the animation on the enemies looks horrible and robotic!

      Is the whole game going to be done in shaky cam like that??? That's great for cutscenes, but that's going to get annoying, fast. I don't care how "realistic" it is, anything that detracts from gameplay blows.

      I can't judge MGS4 on the video of a video. I need a quality video clip before I can judge it.

      @Backflip - I said the game looked good, It just doesn't look good enough to claim its any kind of leap above other games. As for gameplay MGS has never been my favorite stealth game. I have always preffered Splinter Cell. This trailer just doesn't show anything compelling about the game.

      Those don't make the game look good at all. I guess we have to wait for the high rez versions to see if it still looks as good as the videos. You would think they would hire a better animator.

      The enimies look like they are skating on ice. They better fix that, I call it Madden Disease!
    • As usual, I always wait for closer to release videos and information.

      People always get all hyped/pissed about a game even a year out from it and more often than not, the gameplay and looks change quite a bit during that time frame.

      This is one of the things that drives me nuts about the gaming blogsphere.
