Handre De Jager’s Jaded Game Art

Handre De Jager takes video game characters and sucks the innocent naivety right out of them. Take this 11″x17″ Mega Man or Super Mario print on the Awful Mart for example. If these adult-oriented works were any more twisted you’d be looking at an H.R. Giger-Mega Man rendition. Handre says:

“…The Mega Man… In a world on the brink of total annihilation, it alone must battle the malevolent forces of Dr. Wily. Although it may seem human, it knows not of our mortal emotions and ambitions. It has but one goal in its existence: murder the wicked. Will it succeed?”

Yeah, scary but cool stuff. I will need to spend a few diligent days collecting the fond memories I had for these classic icons from my childhood.
