Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, one of the more popular Xbox 360 titles, depicts a Mexican civil war, wherein a left-wing military commander attacks a summit of North American leaders and attempts to seize control of the Mexican government.

Today, the BBC reported that a Mexican court declared Felipe Calderon as winner of that country’s recent election.:

The Federal Electoral Tribunal rejected claims by the losing candidate, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, that the election campaign had been unfair. . . .

Mr Lopez Obrador, whose supporters have been protesting for weeks, has hinted he might form a parallel government.

Generally speaking, forming a “parallel government” does not go over very well. I certainly wish no ill upon our North American neighbors to the south, but the events played out in GRAW could become a lot more realistic than anyone hoped or feared.
