Getting a PS3 Just Became Even Harder

Rumors have been circulating on the net, but now it is official. Sony will only be able to ship 400,000 PS3 consoles to the United States at launch. The news gets even worse if you are living in a country that uses the PAL standard. Your PS3

This shortage combined with the high price will push the PS3 from mainstream to elite only status.
Elite, what the hell is elite about it, none of the games look elite!
Japan gets less than the US because it has a smaller population.
100,000 in japan does seem low but hey it will still sell more than the 360.
the ps2 launched in each territory at a different time and only had 500,000 throughout the entire holiday season in the U.S.. The ps3 will have twice that. So its still on track to outsell the ps2
