Canis Canem Edit which is Latin for Dog Eat Dog is the new name for Rockstar Vancouver’s latest game that used to be called Bully. That’s a long, hard name for gamers to spell and remember. I think it will always be referred to as Bully. So why the name change? Rockstar hasn’t specifically said why, but some say it’s because of the media, politicians, hippies, tree huggers and do-gooders spoiling the fun for Rockstar and us gamers. I say whaa? Every kid that doesn’t “fit in” in school gets bullied. It’s a part of life, live with it.

*Update: The name “Bully” will still remain here in North America. The name change is for Europe only. Why?

At first I thought it was kind of strange how they’re translating a modern English idiom into a several-thousand-year-old language, but then I Googled it and realized that it may have had its origins in Ancient Rome. Neat.
