Curt Schilling To Start Game Studio
The latest rumor making its way through the internet is a report from Gamasutra that Curt Schilling (yes, THAT Curt Schilling, the one that plays Everquest II) is starting a video game company, purportedly called “Green Monster Games.”
Also, he’s supposedly going to have author R.A. Salvatore and Spawn/Toy guy/quasi-corporate entity Todd McFarlane. I’ve not been very impressed with McFarlane’s work in the last ten years. R.A. Salvatore, on the other hand, is a dang good author. He wrote the Drizzt novels for Forgotten Realms, and ensured that Dark Elf rangers with dual-wielding scimitars would be the most popular character types in AD&D gaming groups.
The last time a major celebrity started a game studio (Vin Diesel and Tigon Games) we got the super awesome “Chronicles of Riddick” game. So, I expect good things from a venture such as Green Monster Games.
