XBL Vision Camera Review

visioncameraSMALL.jpgHaving scored a XBL Vision Camera a full month before its actual release put me in an interesting situation while I tested it out online. Last night I played UNO for about 4 hours solid to see if the camera had any bugs or if it would turn red and crash. Luckily none of that happened and I turned out to have a rather positive experience online with the camera.


So the first thing that everyone wants to know is how is the visual quality? The visual quality is very good. The camera allows you to adjust it for several different kinds of lighting conditions and also has a focus ring on the front to help dial it in. Once you are set the camera pretty much does everything from there. While playing UNO, I was able to zoom in up to 4X, and choose any part of the screen to zoom in on. When you do zoom into 4X you will notice the image becoming a bit less clear, but it still retains a high quality for a webcam.

The other neat feature and one that a lot of people are looking forward to is the ability to make your own gamertag picture. The process of making your own gamertag picture is quite easy and once taken can be put through nearly 20 different filters to create the look of your choice. Microsoft has decided that only your friends will be able see your custom gamer picture, a move that should keep us all from seeing someone
