The Anatomy of a Fanboy

I have long been fascinated with the mindset of a hardcore Fanboy. Not the ones that promote their console as the best or just love it to death. I am talking about the ones that brush aside the competition and refuse to think other gaming platforms are worthy of playing. This is why I decided to take a satirical look at the anatomy of a hardcore fanboy. What makes them tick and why? So I sat down and had some die hard fanboys answer some questions in order to see the method behind their madness.

I am an extremely avid nintendo fan, but as far as being a fanboy, not quite. While I vastly prefer Nintendos brand of games, I love burnout 3 on the PS2 and I play the occasional game on XBOX (hate the S-controller design though). I do stick with the belief that Nintendo is the far superior game company, because it is really the only one developing both hardware and its own in house games (the others do rely heavily on buyouts of developers to expand first party) but as much as I want a wii, I accept that some people actually will spend 600 dollars on IMO a vastly overpriced, overcomplex, and likely initially fragile console.
the XBOx360 has a lot oging for it, and I wouldnt mind one if I didnt have to eat and pay rent and a car note as well. But I do, so Wii for me. I also have a lot of energy and the wii is perfect for expending some of that. Maybe Ill actually get more sleep as a result…well when Im not staying up playing Zelda all night.
In any case, if sony had stuck with a cheaper, less risky, less complex route, I might have considered their console. for now, its just an overengineered system that even Sony admits is not focused solely on gaming. A big negative in my book. XBOX seems to be quite a legitimate competitor now. Kudos to nintendo and MS for their progress, and a big Screw to Sony, until they figure out that gaming isnt about multimedia and cutting edge formats. Its about games. thats why nintendo lives to this day. It has always had a laserlike focus on gaming. Thats why they are my favorite company of the three. But lets not forget Sega. Sega is nintendos true competitor and always will be such in my eyes.
This was awesomely funny I laughed my face off!!!…I can’t believe there is actually people so mentally retarded in this world!…another thing is that I can’t believe their ages!, I thought that fanboys were from the 13-15 year old range but this is incredibly stupid…these guys definitely don’t get laid, don’t have any friends and most definitely live in their parents’ basement…don’t get me wrong I also love videogames, I don’t get the stupid people who prefer a console over another so much, I also have preferences but they’re not as far fetched as to never play the other console or to never play PC games (since I do that too)…I can’t believe this people arguing about such ignorant things (GET A LIFE!!). My point is if you like videogames so much get a job save up and get all systems and play PC games if you must to, I own an Xbox 360 an Xbox and a PC (used to own a PS2 but sold since there were no good games coming out for it since 2003) and love all of them I play PC games as much as Xbox and Xbox 360 (specially since I modded my Xbox)…now I “DO” have a life and a good one that is…I have a job, a gilfriend and go out all the time since I have lots of friends (I go to concert s extremely often) also this has nothing to do with the subject but I am also a metalhead, have long hair alway dress in black etc…people don’t expect someone who looks like me to even like videogames but when they enter my room (which is a hybrid of a black-metalhead room with hundreds of posters, some other things I won’t mention because some people tend to have strong religion beliefs etc…and a huge 1000 watt home theater system with all my consoles connceted to it and then my PC with it’s separate surround system and the “Gaming” hardware needed…also some of my friend find impressive that I install everything myself on the PC which makes me a cool guy slash geek…anyway hope anybody here gets my point which is you can love videogames and be a so-called “true” gamer but you should also have a life and stop doing all this fanboy crap…PS: hope anybody has time to read this I was bored and couldn’t sleep and I just found this forum so I started typing…don’t know if I made much of a point here though…
