Review: Dragon Ball Z – Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3)

October 28, 2011 – 12:44 pm |

I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.
This year, we …

PS3 And Wii Kiosk Photos

Submitted by on August 31, 2006 – 7:41 am17 Comments

” Sirpilf” on the official Nintendo forums has posted what look like legit photos of the PS3 and Wii kiosks that we’ll all see in the local mall or wherever else. Sirpilf says: “…not even gamestop employees have seen this yet, but they will in about a week when they get it. anyways it says stores wont receive the demo units till late October to early November.” So are they fake photos? Hard to say, but who cares, they’re purrtty.

The PS3 one looks sweet, I can’t wait to play it then buy it.

  • blandname says:

I wonder if those are tethers on the Wii controller… seems like it would be easy to steal the wiimote without em eh?

  • Not Coper says:

    If you’re buying a PS3, you’re a fool.

    PS3 ftl!

    Wii ftw!

Sony does not yet know how bad they will get pwned in the next gen battle.

correction to that last post doesn’t matter if you buy a ps3 or not… you are still a fool

  • Geeks - own - Nerds says:

Whoever buys PS3 is a fool because no-one really knows if Blu-ray is gnna work, just becasue they say it will, doesn’t mean it does. Sony is gonna’ die one of these days and its gonna be sweet. The only reason, I think, that Microsoft and Sony aren’t CRUSHING nintendo is becasue Nintendo is all about gaming. They have no other departments, becasue heavens forbid that they will start making DVD players. OH NO they went into Sony terrotory. I’m not sure who will win this Gen. War, but I definetly think that Microsoft and Nintendo are tied becasue Microsoft will release Halo 3 for the 360 and Windows Vista (which I think is a waste of money) will come with Halo 2 for the PC. Nintendo without a BIG notice release the DS Lite and coming in new color on September 11th here in America. The Wii is the same price of PSP, so what would u pick? The only reason Sony doesn’t stand a chance is becasue of the incredibly high price. EVEN GAMES COST $80 with TAX which comes out for $100 PER GAME.

Who in the RIGHT MIND WOULD BUY IT????

  • buttstache says:

New games have always been expensive, that’s just the way things are. I will be buying both the PS3 and the Wii, since neither one is too expensive. Get a job and you’ll be able to afford any of the 3 next gen systems easily.

You’re a fool if you think only fools will buy PS3.

  • Mark says:

Wow! Both stations lok good, but I like the look of the PS3 better.

    Nice leak! :)

  • okay says:

    These both look fake.

  • Waalter says:

It isn’t about whether you can afford a PS3, Wii or X-Box 360, it’s whether or not the price is worth it.

I have two friends who have purchased X-Box 360s at launch, and they’ve both already sold them. Why? Because there’s not really much of a variety in terms of games yet. I’m sure in months to come that will expand, but by the time more than a handful of games worth playing are released for the console, the conole’s price will already have been reduced. This goes for PS3 and Wii as well. Are the extra $200 you’re spending on a PS3, extra $30 you’re spending on the games and extra god-knows-what you’re spending on peripherals really going to justify the marginally better graphics and the betamax of the aughts? For me personally, no. But I guess for fans of Sony and Playstation, it might be. At least with Wii it’s packing a little more punch than, “Oh, our games look nicer again and you can watch movies.”

  • Gavin says:

The people who complain about the PS3 pricing and predict it’s failure are pretty vocal on the web, but there is a huge gulf between what internet fans think will happen and reality. Sony will market their system the same way they always do and will continue to keep the PS2 highly appealing for low end consumers. The Wii revolution is not going to sweep the U.S. and European markets the way some fanboys are predicting.

On the topic at hand though, these are fairly standard looking kiosks but any info is interesting at this stage in the game. Great find!

  • McBradd says:

Wait a minute… Does the PS3 logo look like the Spiderman 3 logo to anyone else?

    Hmmm…

  • mellotron says:

McBradd, Indeed the PS3 font is the same as the one used for the Spiderman titles. Spiderman was released by Sony Pictures so no big mystery there.

  • wombat says:

Gavin: Imagine if American girls decided that Wii tennis was the hot item. Nintendo would be #1 over night. (Think Ipod effect.)

Other than Wii’s expanded market, they don’t stand a chance in market share. Profit is another ball game. Especially with the online library of nostolgia.

$20 sales tax, eh? Seems kinda steep

    > no-one really knows if Blu-ray is gnna work,

    > it does.

How can a company safely sell something that ‘doesn’t work’? Of course it’s going to WORK. The problem is whether hollywood is going to adopt it as THE next gen format…

    > becasue heavens forbid that they will start
    > making DVD players

    The Wii will play DVD’s

    > but I definetly think that Microsoft and

    > release Halo 3 for the 360 and Windows
    > Vista will come with Halo 2

I wouldn’t say MS and Nintendo are tied at all. I wouldn’t even say they are in the same ‘war’. And what the hell does Vista have to do with the 360′s ‘edge’? Nintendo will win the ‘war’ with pure numbers. People will buy it because it’s cheap. But more than likely, people will own a 2nd system and THAT’S where the fight comes in. If PS3 can deliver on a lot of the promises it has and blows everyone away, maybe it can shed some of the bad publicity it’s had over the recent months and gain some market share on the 360. But as far as market share alone goes, it’s almost a no brainer that Nintendo will take it.
