EA’s Mid-Life Crysis

eacrytek.jpgWill the older, immeasurable EA purchase the young and hip Crytek company and their cool CryEngine2 technology? EA already owns the publishing rights to Crysis, so why not? A report published in the German newspaper “Die Welt,” yesterday mentioned a possible acquisition by EA over Crytek, makers of Crysis and Farcry. EA’s executive vice president of international publishing Gerhard Florin went on to describe Crytek as a “very, very interesting candidate…” I wonder myself what type of games we’d see if EA did in fact purchase Crytek. Would we see even more realistic sports games? How about when you brush up against a Football player in Madden 2010 their jersey ruffles ever so precisely or the stadium’s astroturf leaves a butt imprint where a player was laying down. Now we’re talkin’ Crysis!
