Capcom’s adjustment recommendations for the small text issue that only adheres to Superman-like eye sight or folks with HDTV’s in Dead Rising reminds me of what my landlord said to us recently. When I told him that we have no hot water, he replied: “…make sure the cold water tap is completely off…” Duh! What am I a imbecilic Lemming? 1UP is pushing to get Capcom to patch Dead Rising before all of us who don’t have the luxury of HD go blind with agony or are forced to equip ourselves with high-powered Bushnell binoculars. Capcom stated that “…Unfortunately Dead Rising was optimized for High Definition TV’s. Due to this, the font in the game might be difficult to read on standard definition TV’s”. So here are Capcom’s suggestions:

1.) Adjust the settings on your TV or monitor
2.) Try using component cables instead of standard composite
3.) Setting the TV to widescreen ratio (even though you may not have a widescreen TV) may help in some cases

Not nearly half of the game population has an HD widescreen TV. So what was their rationale for this move? I myself sport only a 27″ Sony VEGA or WEGA, whatever they’re called and I have to bring the TV right up to my nose just to follow the story. I gave up, so I ignore the dialogue completely and opted for the free-roam slashing fiesta.
