    3D Printed Game Characters

    By Shane | August 12, 2006

“Fruminator” has managed to get their hands on a Zcorp high definition 3D printer and print out a favored World of Warcraft character. These special printers were developed so that companies could see a prototype of their product before actually going into development but It could also be used to print out video game characters based on 3D models. All that was required is to export a cleaned up and textured model as a VRML file and there you have it. These characters aren’t Papercraft, they are composed of thousand of layers of powder binded by glue which the 3D printer prints out from your CAD file. If you want your favorite game character printed out in 3D you can get in touch with Anvil Prototypes. Here is their PDF file on the 3D avatar process.
