Over G Fighters Review

When I picked up Over G Fighters for the Xbox 360 I dreamed that it would be as fast paced and exciting as Top Gun, but when I finally put the controller down I realized it was more like Driving Miss Daisy, with explosions.

The first thing that stands out about OGF is how slow it actually feels. I know when a jet is very high up in the atmosphere that it will look slow compared to the ground, but this is a video game, and I want to actually feel like I am going fast. Amazingly, even the parts closer to the ground seem a bit slow, why?

To complement the slow gameplay, Taito has thrown in sluggish controls and frustratingly repetitive missions. That

From the standpoint of realism, this is a better game than others. True, for the average gamer it would be pretty slow. But I liked it cause for once I actually saw a game thats more real. No 500 homming missles and unlimited guns. If you run out of your set up (which is realistic for each aircraft) head back to base and land for more. No fake 9+G turns with no effect. The game actually shows you what happens to a pilots vision while doing that.

I haven't played this yet but I'll trust the lack of hype and say that I won't be playing this. Why do the developers and publishers waste their time?

I have to agree with Richard. This is the worst game I have purchased since the 8-bit revolution. What a let down. Lets start with the NON-animated cartoon characters. Yes thats correct, not only did the makers of this game cheap out on actual actors. They couldn't even make the cartoon characters animated. The menu screen fits perfectly with the characters...they have a feel thats just a cheap. The actual gameplay is so repetetive that the game got boring within the first hour of playing. Same missions over and over. The graphics in the missions aren't bad as long as you only look at the jet you are flying. As for everything else in the game, nothing looks real at all! Seriously, I think this game could have been released on Super NES or N64 back in the day. Please to anyone reading this, if you are excited about this game....RENT IT or play the demo first! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME! You will definately regret it. AS DO I
