Video Games You May Not Fancy

I’ve noticed an abundance of tasteless web video games out there recently. All but one are web games mind you and they would never make to the mainstream home market I hope

Two of these games I feel are artistic statements and the other two, exploitive. The 9/11 plane game and JFK Reloaded I feel are not artistic statements. You may have heard of this one, where you have to shoot the planes down before the reach the towers. Disrespectful and just wrong in so many ways. It also upset a lot of people for good reason. This game has actually been out since the incident, but it’s resurfaced again lately. I don’t have a link or a screenshot to this one anymore.

Then there’s this new Colmbine Massacre RPG. The title speaks for itself. This title is actually a downloadable role playing game and the artist who created it was making a statement.
JFK Reloaded was another game on the web where you are a sniper in a building and, well, it plays out just like the real event. It didn’t contain a statement and while the splash page is still up, it seems like it’s been taken down off the official site.

The McDonalds video game was another game created to perhaps wake people up to Corporate reality. It’s a point and click simulation-type of game which shows us what really goes on behind the scenes of the biggest fast food chain. Think of Supersize me or The Corporation only in video game form.

If there’s anymore types of these games out there, let us know and we’ll add them to the list.

I played Columbine Massacre a month or two ago to completion and found it oddly engaging. Like everyone else, I knew about Columbine and watched with horror as it unfolded on TV.

When I played through it, I learned many things I did not know about the event and at the end, when you see the killers bodies laying there in pools of blood (from a crime scene photo), I was like “wow”.
