I just discovered MSN’s new Ad Center insta-demographic tool which predicts the age range of the readers to your website. It’s no surprise that 61% are male, I actually thought it would be higher, but it is somewhat of a shocker that 39% are female game readers. Could this be Rakka’s doing? How accurate is this I ask you? Evidently Kotaku has almost the same score, but wouldn’t most non-gender specific game blogs be about the same anyway. Also, you’ll notice that the 25-34 year old age range is the highest. There was news recently that the average age of a gamer is now 33 years of age. If you look at the bottom of this chart for gender percentages – they’re almost identical to what Aeropause received. Interesting.

60:40 is only just male, dear Aeropause. Only just.

Why are men always *so* surprised that women play games?

  • shane says:

I wasn’t surprised at all, actually. I was being facetious but that’s hard to convey online. I know a lot of women play games.

  • Brinstar says:

I got roughly the same demographics.

  • shane says:

Yeah I’m not sure how accurate it really is…but the amount of female gamers could seem right. Who knows without really doing a proper survey.
