The First Leaked Info On The XBox 360
An article was posted in the AE Interactive Mercury News blog about a secretive Microsoft email which was circulated just before the launch of the 360 back in 2002. Whoa that’s four years ago, it sure has been in development for quite some time. In the email they spoke bluntly about leaking information on the project codenamed ‘XENON’ back then stating:
"We have already experienced a significant information leak to one of our key partners, which is unacceptable. As you may know from Xbox 1.0, leaks of this sort can have a major impact on our business profitability. For this reason, if you know information about Xenon, keep it quiet. (BTW, if you leak information about Xenon, you should expect to be fired and prosecuted. ‘Nuff said.)"
The rest of the email goes on to explain there will be a lot of technical reviews, focus groups et cetera before the actual launch. Oh and whether or not you were going to the Halloween party as your Gamertag.
