I really liked last year’s DBZ game, Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit 2. It felt like the franchise had finally achieved some serious attention with a game that was both deep and fun.

Revisiting the Last Year in Games

beachAh, summertime. Beautiful evenings in the setting sun and days on the beach. Is it really any wonder that games don’t come out with the same crushing intensity of releases as they do in winter? Why would they compete with the newest summer blockbuster movies, too? It would be insanity. And it’s driving me crazy. I want a new game!

Sadly, my wish isn’t going to be a reality. Instead, we’re all left scratching our butts and digging through crates of our old, trusty games that have served us well over the past 6 months or a year, or even longer. I, myself, have gone and reinstalled Guild Wars for some PvE action that takes little in the way of time-commitment. That, and practicing my snaking on the tracks of Mario Kart DS.

So, what’s everyone else up to during this summer slow-release time? Which old faves are you dusting off?

I’ve been diving into Garry’s Mod for Half Life 2, talk about a time suck!

Well, due to the fact that I am a Cheap Ass Gamer, I am never playing “New releases”. As it stands, I have my backlog down to two games before I run to the store to pick up some more used ones.

However, to answer the question, at the moment I am playing God Of War with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on the list after that is complete.

I am also always playing Guitar Hero and as far as the old school, I am re-working my way through Earthbound.

Oh and I am also working my way through Penumbra and Planetarian.
