New Crysis Footage
Art Director Michael Khaimzon on the PC Sci-Fi game Crysis gives us a really nice 15 minute demo with new footage – at least, it is to me. Although the clip is in low-res, you still get a pretty good idea of what dimension this title will bring to the home computer. With that, of course you’re going to need a new DirectX 10 card when they arrive to get the full effect (damn), or suffice with whatever is the latest and greatest at this moment in time. My 6800GT will probably not suffice even though I spent $500 on this when it came out. You just can’t win.
I don’t know about you but I cannot wait for this game. It’s probably the first title to hit the PC with such photo-realism, depth and complexity. Not only do the trees interact with you in every way possible, but the houses, cars and just about everything else. I did notice though that the enemy AI was a bit weird when Michael approahed them with arms a blazing; the NPC’s would just sit there facing a different direction throwing ‘nades while you pummel them to death. I do hope this is rectified when the game comes out this Fall. This is a minor issue when you think about playing this beauty in multiplayer and that’s where the money is.
