The latest version of MMOGChart has been published.

Couple things I noticed:

1. WoW growth seems to have stagnated. Whether this is due to accuracy of the numbers MMOGChart.com has obtained or due to an actual halt in growth for the WoW subscriber base, I don’t think we can tell right now. If these numbers are accurate, Vivendi must be crapping bricks, because if WoW starts DECLINING, well, there goes Vivendi’s whole games strategy. Forget about World of Starcraft.

2. Every MMO that Sony has is hemorrhaging users at alarming rates. Heh.

3. I feel kind of bad for NCSoft and City of Heroes. I haven’t played CoH, but my understanding is that it’s a well done MMORPG in a setting that I can definitely appreciate. I wish I knew whether NCSoft’s failure to grow their product is a result of the quality of the game or simply a lack of interest in comic book MMORPG’s. Marvel, take note.

So, now the real question? Are all these MMORPG’s going down the drain because of Blizzard’s juggernaut? I suppose if I had a Cerebro like device that would link my mind to the mind of every MMORPG gamer out there, I could quickly discern whether other MMORPG’s just suck that much or the market is just saturated.

Hmm, on second thought… linking my brain to the dark, twisted regions of the MMORPG mass consciousness?

*shudder*

Ominous.
