Gamers at Work

I am a Gnome WarlockGaming at the workplace. No, I don’t mean playing at work (that would be great and all, but …) I mean talking about it. We all have to pay our subscription fees somehow, for me I work the daily grind at the office and head home at night to raid Black Wing Lair or pluck the weeds growing in Animal Crossing.

But, I’m not alone. With 6 million World of Warcraft players world-wide, it’s not possible to be the only gamer in the office. In fact, it’s very likely that you sit next to a gnome warlock and don’t even know it. It might seem rather silly to discover who is into games, but I think it will go a long way to bringing gaming and gamers “out of the basement”. If we raise awareness, video games will be harder to villanize with sensational stories of violence.

Homework for this week: find out who plays. You might be surprised who does. I know I was. I expect a full report by the end of the week.

My co-worker who sits beside me is a gamer. That’s pretty much all we talk about all day…uh aside from work-related stuff first. (just in case the boss is reading this)
